From the moment he stepped into his role with the NYU Alumni in Tech club, Ife [he/him] didn’t just volunteer, he transformed. As a brand-new volunteer, he immediately recognized the potential of the club and took on the challenge of revitalizing its presence and impact.
This past year, Ife spearheaded the complete relaunch of the club’s mentor program, bringing together over 100 mentors and mentees across the global NYU Tech community. Under his leadership, the program rolled out with a full arc of engagement: a high-energy kickoff event, a thoughtful midpoint check-in, and an end-of-year reception to celebrate and close out the cohort. The structure he built has created meaningful relationships, professional growth, and a renewed sense of community for participating alumni.
Beyond the mentorship program, Ife has been a catalyst for the entire volunteer team. He engages people, motivates them, and brings out their best. Thanks to his initiative and collaborative spirit, the club successfully organized multiple events—speaker talks, networking gatherings, and social meetups—that have strengthened alumni connections in tech and raised the club’s profile.
Ife’s impact in just one year has been extraordinary. He is exactly the kind of leader this award exists to honor.
