NYU Alumni Club in New Jersey: County-Led Leadership Model
NYU Alumni Club in New Jersey has expanded from 2 people to now 22 people and it is still growing.
Over the past 2 years, the club has added several enthusiastic and passionate leaders to the team who are eager to serve as ambassadors of NYU. These leaders include County Leads of 11 (of 21 counties) of New Jersey, 2 Co-Presidents, 1 Vice President, 2 Communication Lead, and 5 Event Leads. The event leaders leverage the knowledge and relationships of County Leads in their respective counties to organize fun events for the alumni. In under 2 years, our club has organized 40+ events, attracting 2500+ alumni as we average 2-3 events per month. The events include Happy Hours, Brunches, family friend beach events, fall hayrides, professional growth, museum trips, dinner cruise, friends-giving brunches, Holiday festivities, and volunteer events. The concept of County leads has helped the club ensure scalable opportunities for the alumni as we look to have events in every county of the state. The goal of the club is to foster local NYU alumni networks across the state that can serve as a platform to help our alumni with personal and professional growth. The club is ecstatic and thankful to NYU Alumni Association for the Innovation of the year award.
